Our Medical Team

At Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, our medical team fields more than 70,000 cardiac-related visits annually, with more than 25,000 individuals being treated for chest pain across seven emergency rooms. In addition, the team performs over 1,700 cardiac surgeries a year.

The Institute's cardiac team performs not only routine surgeries, but also highly specialized, complex cardiac procedures, such as valve repair/replacement, heart remodeling, ascending arch aneurysms, MAZE. For us, these complex procedures are routine … and that sets us apart.

Our strong support staff includes cardiac and critical care nurses, cardiovascular technicians, cardiac rehab, nutrition specialists and physical therapists, each prepared to participate in your diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Every stage of treatment is carefully coordinated with your primary care provider as part of an integrated health program.

Research Studies

We are also advancing heart medicine through participation and collaboration in nationally and internationally recognized cardiac research studies. These studies test new treatment options and cutting-edge technologies … enabling our heart patients to have access to the most advanced therapies months - even years - before they are available to the public. Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute physicians also participate in investigator initiated studies as well.
