One of the latest treatments to be adopted, robotic ablation is effective in the treatment of complex arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation. In contrast to traditional ablation therapies, robotic ablation allows the catheters to be positioned exactly in the heart using computerized, magnetic navigation. This not only increases safety, but increases precision and accuracy of catheter movement.
The Arrhythmia and Ablation Center at Florida Hospital also has a robotic catheter remote control system available, known as Stereotaxis. The system allows physicians to more accurately map the location to be ablated, reducing the surgical time frames while greatly increasing accuracy and safety.
